"Sage of Omaha" Warren Buffett gives his verdict on the US economy, Goldman Sachs and the French World Cup Team

Warren Buffett aka "the Sage of Omaha" has told his opinion on Goldman Sachs in an interview.

"I feel good about their business prospects. I mean... it's a very, very strong, well-run business."

Buffett, who has an estimated fortune $37 billion has built up his fortune from investing.

Goldman Sachs, which is involved in securities trading, is similar to where Warren Buffett worked under Ben Graham, his teacher from Columbia Business School.

"It's got a place in the universe and there are fewer big investment banks around than there were a few years ago worldwide." said Buffett.

Goldman Sachs recently advised him on his acquisition of railway company Burlington Northern Sante Fe - a move that got him listed on Standard & Poor's 500 listing.

A fee from the firm's investment bank charged them £23m.

"I don't like that," he added quickly.

"But they have that sort of market position and... Goldman Sachs has a very strong market position. Lloyd Blankfein, you cannot find a better manager." he said finally. Click here
